And now, the gyprock

The house is now really taking shape. the sheets of gyprock are put on the walls and the rooms have now they final shpae and size. We can't see through the whole house anymore, and the ceilings are on!

What happened so far

· 24/03/2012: the good tiles are being put in the kitchen.

· 13/04/2012: we have sold St Clair :-)

· 12/04/2012: letter from Austral ot start Nawkaw paint work on bricks.

· 04/04/2012: new error: the security door are the wrong colour! and there are no flyscreen to the bottom part of the windows.

· 03/04/2012: we can't belive it...they put the wrong tiles on the kitchen splashback! they have to rip them off, take the cupboards off and redo the whole wall!

· 29/03/2012: letter from MJH to arrange pre-handoverinspection with Dave...we are going to wait until kitchen and bricks are sorted!

· 27/03/2012: the house is locked and has been completely cleaned.

· 19/03/2012: the aircon is in, the bathtubs, toilets and shower rails are intalled. Wardorbes and kitchen shelves are being fitted.

· 09/03/2012: Just got an email from Dave, our SS: estimated handover is 16 April...in 6 weeks, it's insane!!!

· 08/03/2012: Internal painting in progress. Facade bag&paint finished. Front and laundry door, and beams on facade stained. Benchtops on and bathroom sinks installed.

· 02/03/2012: Tiling finished.

· 23/02/2012: Kitchen installed and tiling started in laundry and wet areas.

· 16/02/2012: Kitchen delivered.

· 13/02/2012: Cornices and architraves finished. All doors installed (incl. front and laundry door, but still waiting for the garage door).

· 11/02/2012: Gyprock and waterproofing finished.

· 03/02/2012: Gyprock installed on ceiling and internal walls.

· 01/02/2012: Wooden beams installed at the front, gyprock delivered. Eaves finished. Insulation changed.

· 26/01/2012: Frame Inspection performed by an independent building inspector. Minor defects detected ans reported to our SS.

· 21/01/2012: Wall insulation installed. They install the wrong kind and have to start again!

· 13/01/2012: Roof is on, the dark Woodland Grey colorbond looks beautiful.

· 23/12/2011: Bricks finished and gutters installed. They should start on the roof after the Christmas Break!

· 12/11/2011: Bricks have been delivered and the first row installed. They look good! Also, some errors in the frame have been rectified.

· 29/10/2011: Windows installed and frame finished.

· 21/10/2011: Frame started.

· 19/10/2011: Frame delivered.

· 17/10/2011: Plumber visit for drainage. New huge pile of dirt appears.

· 13/10/2011: Big pile of dirt is gone.

· 10/10/2011: Slab.

· 28/09/2011: Piering.

· 19/09/2011: Site scraped and cut out.

· 08/09/2011: Construction Certificate received.

· 24/08/2011: Authority to Commence Construction received from the bank.

· 16/08/2011: Development Approval received from Blacktown Council.

· 08/08/2011: Extension for New Home Builder grant approved (yeah!)

· 05/08/2011: Final variations with bushfire upgrades signed and updated plans sent to Council.

· 21/07/2011: Letter from Council that we need to upgrade our bushfire requirements. MJH contacts us on 29/07 with upgrades costs.

· 11/07/2011: MJH lodge our plans to Blacktown Council.

· 08/07/2011: Medallist approval received.

· 06/07/2011: Price Variation 1 (electrical) and PV2 (façade modifications) approved.

· 29/06/2011: Medallist finally approves our new façade (with bricks around the garage doors).

· 24/06/2011: Electrical appointment at MJH office in Baulkham Hills.

· 16/06/2011: Medallist requests that we modify our façade! Negotiations begin…

· 30/05/2011: CONTRACT SIGNED and sent to Medallist for approval.

· 17/05/2011: Contract received and sent to our solicitors for review and comments (it is like Chinese to us!)

· 12/05/2011: Annexure A received (consolidated tender including colour selection)

· 06/05/2011: Final colour selection signed.

· 21/04/2011: Final ok for colour selection and updated tender.

· 14/04/2011: Presentation of the house plans and Colour appointment at MJH office in Baulkham Hills with Lee.

· 27/03/2011: Final ok to CT.

· 22/03/2011: Site sketch and initial Consolidated Tender.

· 28/02/2011: Confirmation to MJH that we will go ahead with the DV2.

· 08/02/2011: We receive the Bushfire Report and make some changes to the DV.

· 16/01/2011: Deposit Variation 1 and payment of deposit to MJH.

· 11/12/2010: Presentation of the first tender @MJH Homeworld for a Chesterfield Executive.
